The Great Gatsby - Book Review

The Great Gatsby - Book Review - Incredible Opinions

The Great Gatsby ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Author - F. Scott Fitzgerald

What a classic by F. Scott Fitzgerald!

I wish I were alive in that era to live through those jazz days and probably went to one of the parties Jay Gatsby threw in 1922.

'The Great Gatsby' is concerned with a young and mysterious man, Jay Gatsby. He is wealthy and throws extra lavish parties in the hope of meeting his lost love, Daisy Buchanan who is now married to someone else. The narrator, Nick Carraway, is Gatsby's neighbour and is invited to one such parties and he happens to know Daisy. It is such an interesting and astonishing read that a solved and smart man like Gatsby waits for Daisy who is portrayed as not very wise and goes for exterior beauty only.

There is a reason why it is called a masterpiece. Fitzgerald has painted the mindset of generation of that era of the Great War and The Great Depression. Amongst that generation, Jay Gatsby throws the parties with booze, music and dance which American people tend to attend. Gatsby comes around as an optimistic character who everyone wants to be but also condescends a lot about his money making sources.

This book proves the saying "Good things comes in small packages" true. Fitzergald did a wonderful job in writing such a powerful fiction in a short book. If you haven't read it yet, this is a masterpiece you should read if you love classics!
