The Things We Cannot Say - Book Review - Incredible Opinions

The Things We Cannot Say  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Author - Kelly Rimmer
Publisher - Harlequin Trade

My first book by Kelly Rimmer and definitely not the last. I am absolutely in awe of this story and her writing style. The Things We Cannot Say is one such story for me which will cling to my mind a long after I read it.

This book is written from a dual perspective of Alice and Alina with almost 80+ years time period between them. Alina is in Nazi occupied Poland and Alice’s grandmother. Alice is in the US and in 2019. There has been a lot of books written about Nazi atrocities and as all of them, this book is also an emotional and informative read.

Kelly Rimmer has beautifully penned down an emotional ride of a woman during Holocaust when her family is separated from her. This is a story of devastation, destruction, loyalty, love and honour. This story about a “truth” which is silenced and it takes a long period of time to voice it.

Kelly knows how to capture emotions with her honesty and I am definitely going to read more of her work.

If you love historical fiction, you must add this to your TBR pile. It is definitely a 5 star read for me and one of my favourites of this year.
