Love or Freedom

freedom-vs-love-incredible-opinions

That's what I hear the most from my friends after I got married  - "You have changed so much after your wedding! You don't have time for your friends anymore."

If any of you have heard the same thing from your friends/relatives, let me tell you that you are not the only one who is blamed for being anti-social. I am, perhaps, the most social person in my family. Some of my friends are from my kindergarten days and we are still in contact even if we have geographical limitations. The newer relationships never ask for the sacrifice of older relationships. It is never the love which set boundaries for you and never enforces what and whom to choose.

The concept of love is different for different people. It cannot be confused with responsibilities which embark upon oneself after he/she is in love with someone.

Love does not claim possession but gives freedom.Rabindranath Tagore

Love and freedom are complementary to each other. Where there is love, freedom follows. Freedom exists in a relationship where there is a true love. None can bind you in any relationship possessively if mutual love doesn't exist. Freedom of soul and mind can be attained only when there is a relationship full of love.

I value all my relationships in life because it feels incredible to be loved. It is, indeed, my love for writing a blog which has given me the freedom to express, "I prefer true love over freedom".

  1. Well, love and freedom aren't opposed to each other. It's challenging to handle both but ideally it can be done. Interesting thought.
